Dr. Carl Mueller is
a research scientist for Analex Corporation at the National Aeronautics
and Space Administration's Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field
in Cleveland, Ohio. His research interests include ferroelectric
thin-film materials for frequency and phase-tunable devices for
phase shifters and filters and the development of silicon germanium
(SiGe/Si) modulation-doped field-effect transistor (MODFET) structures
on sapphire substrates with high carrier mobilities, for use in
high-frequency, radiation-hard electronics circuitry. He is also
involved in the development of communications devices based on nanotechnology.
Dr. Mueller earned his doctoral degree in materials science and
engineering from the University of Florida in 1992. He has authored
over 50 publications and two book chapters and holds three U.S.
patents. His expertise is in the development of novel communication
devices that utilize unique materials properties for enhanced microwave
performance.
