Market Studies
Part of the NASA mission is to develop and transfer technology to industry and government, including satellite technologies for the National Information Infrastructure (NII) and Global Information Infrastructure (GII). To this end, we conduct research and development for the next-generation broadband satellites while supporting the Advanced Communications Technology Satellite (ACTS) program along with industry forums and standards groups.

In addition, we work with Booz-Allen-Hamilton, Inc. to assess broadband satellite markets and applications.

In particular, this assessment will address the changing nature of applications, the size of satellite addressable markets, how well satellite-based transport meets the needs of applications, and how the impact of future technology developments could increase the usefulness of satellite-based transport.
