Dale A. Force has received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from Michigan State University and an M.E. degree in Thermionic Electronics from the University of Utah. Since 1983, he has been associated with the vacuum electronics microwave amplifier research group at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio. He also served a year as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics at Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne.
His research efforts have focused on computational design techniques for multistage depressed collectors and novel methods of operating traveling wave tubes. He has served as COTR on several programs, and published numerous papers and presentations. He is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and the American Physical Society (APS).
